Golgotha's Fantasy - Of Gods and Mortals Osprey Game

 Herewith, a somewhat different take on the Of Gods and Mortals Osprey Game. The Warhammer miniatures, Stormcast Eternal sorts being used as an angelic host that have travelled across dimensions via an arcane portal into the very bowels of Hell to take on an evil warlock and his demonic forces. This is one of my ongoing games to try and play at least one game from every book in Osprey's blue wargame series. It was a bit impromptu - so I will need to try these rules again - but my youngest son and I had fun, especially with the spell effects and summoning. Hope you enjoy the little storyline. 

Stepping through the portal - a daunting task... knowing full well what horrors must lurk beyond...

Malicious beasts begin to gather in their masses readying to tear asunder the heavenly host.

Meanwhile, something sinister lurks under the stairwell guarding perhaps what must be a place that one would be able to use to control dragons - has the warlocks plans been discovered though not yet foiled.  

The first encounter - surely our saintly hero will easily be able to dash this old, fat grizzled thing from beyond...

Alas not as all is suddenly cast into darkness.

Whats more is the rattling bones of undead can be heard, the remains of tortured souls no doubt. 

Still things worsen as foul creatures attack with demonic intent. 

Will a circle of protect keep these malign horrors at bay?

The longer these unwanted do gooders stay the worse things will get - they have to keep moving and find that which they seek - the malevolent warlock himself. 

They enter some of the inner chambers only to uncover further mal intent - a Vrock. 

One bird down but then... when things couldn't get worse a real nightmare emerged, a Devil of monstrous proportions. 

This the led to a Tolkien like moment as our devout cleric attempted to stop the passage of this balrog across a chasm of lava - a futile endeavour...

Especially as this demon was aided by the villain himself and he was not amused... 

Refusing with all his might to not let his malevolent intentions become misaligned. 

A summoning circle providing an impenetrable barrier.

Time was up for our heroes now martyred. enabling our villain to wreak his havoc on the prime material plane.  Would the great cosmological wheel come full circle?
